The high-performance rail milling train SF03 W-FFS completes the entire profile coverage – depending on the condition of the rails and the depth of the defects – in just one pass with variable material removal between 0.3 and 1.8 mm. The integrated grinding technology also ensures fine grinding, thereby further contributing to extending the service life of the rails and effectively reducing noise. The rail milling train can operate autonomously for over eight hours and is very environmentally friendly thanks to its low dust and spark emission. The absence of defects can be verified with the aid of integrated eddy current testing.

Clean process

This milling technology does not require water and produces minimal sparks and grinding dust thanks to the extraction technology. The swarf removed from the rails is extracted during the milling process and collected in the chip bunker for later disposal. Clean-up work after the milling process, e.g. along tunnel walls, is therefore not required. Due to the use of a powerful extraction technology, no processing residues are left behind in the track .
