Various rating agencies have been regularly assessing Vossloh's sustainability performance for years. The company is currently rated Prime by Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) ESG, among others, placing the Vossloh Group among the top ten percent in its industry. Vossloh achieved Gold status from EcoVadis in 2024 and received the Silver medal in 2025. MSCI ESG Research continued to assign Vossloh the second-best rating of AA (on a scale from AAA to CCC) in the 2024 reporting year. Additionally, Vossloh received the German Sustainability Award 2025 in the Mobility and Logistics category.
Such assessments play a special role for Vossloh: As one of the first companies in Germany, the Group placed a sustainability-oriented hybrid bond at the beginning of 2021. The repayment amount of the bond is linked to the company's sustainability performance, as measured by the ratings of ISS ESG and MSCI ESG Research. In February 2024, Vossloh concluded an ESG-oriented syndicated loan in which the interest margin is linked to the compliance rate of sales according to the EU Taxonomy Regulation in the form of a bonus-malus arrangement.
